Our New Home on Wheels
Hey friends! I’ve got some exciting news to share. After a weekend of spontaneous planning and booking, my family and I are finally setting off on a grand adventure! This isn’t just any trip; it's the beginning of our journey to explore all 50 states. I'm excited to take you along for the ride!
Our new RV is cozy, comfortable, and has everything we need to make this adventure unforgettable. It’s equipped with a spacious living area, comfy sleeping quarters, and all the amenities to make us feel at home while on the road. We actually did things a bit backward—planning and booking the trip BEFORE getting our RV. We chose our RV, paid cash, and had it delivered to our driveway from Ohio in just two weeks. I’ll share more about this in a later post, but for now, just know that we can’t wait to create memories as we explore new places and experience the beauty of our country.
Why We're Doing This
Last year, we visited nine states, and while it was fun, we realized it would be even better to travel in an RV instead of staying in Airbnbs. The flexibility, convenience, and adventure of RV travel appealed to us, and this year, we decided it was time to make our dream a reality. We want to show our kids the diverse beauty of our country, from bustling cities to serene national parks, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Our Travel Plan
A month ago, we didn’t even know this trip was happening, and now here we are! Over a weekend, we planned our route and booked all our travel arrangements. This summer, we’re heading to New England. We chose New England for its cooler climate, charming towns, beautiful coastlines, and rich history—an ideal escape from the heat of South Carolina. Throughout the year, we’ll take shorter trips, exploring destinations closer to home and getting to know our RV better. Next summer, we’ll plan another big adventure. It’s all about balancing the big and small journeys to eventually reach our goal.
What to Expect from Our Blog
I’ll be sharing the highlights of our journey—the highs, the lows, and everything in between. From stunning landscapes to quirky roadside attractions, I’ll cover it all. I’ll also review campgrounds and points of interest we stop at along the way. For privacy, I’ll be posting about our destinations after visiting them, not in real-time.
Here are some of the things you can look forward to reading about:
Must-See Destinations
As we travel, we’ll be visiting some iconic landmarks and hidden gems. I’ll share our experiences at these destinations, including what to see, where to eat, and tips for making the most of your visit. Whether it’s a national park, a historic site, or a quirky roadside attraction, we hope to inspire you to add these places to your own travel bucket list.
Family Adventures
Traveling with kids adds an extra layer of excitement and unpredictability to any trip. I’ll share stories of our family adventures, the fun activities we discover along the way, and how we navigate the ups and downs of life on the road. From impromptu games to memorable encounters with locals, these moments make our journey special.
Campground Reviews
Finding the perfect campground can make or break a trip. I’ll provide honest reviews of the campgrounds we stay at, highlighting the amenities, cleanliness, location, and overall vibe. This will help you choose the best spots for your own adventures.
Jones RV Adventures Across America
Our first major trip is taking us to New England. We’re starting in the summer to escape the heat of South Carolina and enjoy the cooler climate up north. We’ve never been to New England before, so we’re excited to explore its charming towns, beautiful coastlines, and rich history.
Stay tuned for my first blog post about Day 1 of the journey, where we faced an unexpected detour that turned into a memorable adventure. Follow the blog and Jones RV Adventures on Instagram @jonesrvadventures to get updates and behind-the-scenes peeks at our travels. Let's hit the road together!
Here’s to embracing the journey, no matter where it leads.
