Jones RV Adventures: The Search for a Tow

As we navigated the twists and turns of our RV adventure, a big question loomed: Where do we find something to tow this RV? The RV purchase process was surprisingly smooth—delivered right to our driveway. It felt like everything was falling into place, with most campgrounds offering the very last available spot. But then we were left wondering: Why would God have us buy an RV, book a month of nonrefundable campground stays, and then leave us without a way to tow it?

Maybe God has a sense of adventure.

Maybe He wanted us to write this story or just remind us that He’s got the details covered. Whatever the reason, we needed to find a truck—and fast.

Then my husband, who works for a car company, found the only truck available in the entire United States that we could access through a management lease. And guess where it was? Pennsylvania—one of our stops on the way to New England. It felt like a sign. We started tossing around ideas: Could we rent a truck and tow the RV there? Could we fly up, get the truck, and drive it back? Or even have it delivered? We had options, but nothing could be decided until the dealership and rental places opened on Monday.

A peaceful campground scene with a small wooden cabin nestled among tall trees draped in Spanish moss. In the foreground, a blue bucket holds a sign with the words "GOD'S GOT THIS," providing an uplifting message. The cabin features patriotic decorations, including an American flag, and picnic tables are visible nearby. The lush green grass and surrounding nature create a serene and inviting atmosphere.
God's got this!

In the meantime, we tried to make the best of things and enjoy our Sunday. We spent the day enjoying where we were and each other's company, coming up with solutions while also trying to relax. It was a mix of problem-solving and just being together. Even with all the uncertainty, we felt a sense of calm knowing we were in it together and that things would work out one way or another.

At one point, we saw a sign at the campground that simply said, "God's got this." It made me smile, a comforting reminder that we were not alone in this journey!

Highlights of the Day:

  • Building Legos with one of our kids, which was a fun way to pass the time.

  • Soaking up the sun and splashing around in the pool.

  • Eating Fritos and eggs at our tiny RV table—a simple but nostalgic meal that brought back some good memories.

  • Playing tetherball and dreaming about setting one up in our yard, even though we're not sure what the HOA will think!

Lessons of the Day:

  • God is in control, even when things feel up in the air.

  • Sometimes, all you can do is wait and make the most of the moment.

As the day ended, we knew we'd have to wait until Monday to see how things would play out. It was a bit of a waiting game, but we were hopeful. We figured that by Monday morning, we'd know whether we could start our trip a little late or if we'd have to come up with a new plan.

To be continued...

Here’s to embracing the journey, no matter where it leads!
